There's a new rearing mold in the Stablemate lineup. Brio is a Mustang stallion by artist Mindy Berg. Mindy's sculpture has lovely shapes and details that remind me of Kathleen Moody and Maureen Love sculptures. I could imagine this boy in bone china.
He's a big boy both in his build and in scale with the other models—which will make him a joy to customize. His ears are back, with one wrapped in a bit of forelock. His head is tucked up tight against his muscular neck.
Brio was a 2023 Stablemate Club Model.

Akilah is an Arabian mare positioned for showing in-hand—which
makes many of us do a double take on her front legs. She is a mini of Zafirah, a Brigitte
Eberl sculpt who debuted as a Traditional 2022 Premier Club model.

This mini Othello—aka Horatio—is a Deluxe Collector Club Bonus model for 2024. Othello/Wintersong was sculpted by Kathleen Moody. We first saw him as the porcelain Drum Horse in 1999 before he debuted in plastic in 2007.

This little girl was a wonderful surprise. She is a custom and an OF at the same time! I've made the G2 Thoroughbred into polo ponies myself, as well as tucking her head.
She was designed by Franceyn Dare with tucked head, roached mane and braided tail. She has many newly sculpted details including a beautiful face and banded tail. She is a Stablemates Club Model for 2024.

Augustus (photo by Breyer) |
Coming in 2024 will be Augustus. He is a playful drafter by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig. He will be an OF member of her resin line up that included Peanut and Zug and little Popcorn. The silver bay pinto coat was designed by Sommer Prosser.

This boy has been available since 2022, but I didn't finish a post about him so I'll add him here. Giorgio is a chonky cutie sculpted by Brigittte Eberl. I like to picture him as a relative of Gustav.
WIA Gustav, a similar sculpt |
Breyer welcomed Georg as a Traditional in 2019 as part of the Premier Collection. He is a Rennish-German Draft. He was first made into an adorable stablemate, Giorgio, in rose gray in 2022 as a Premier Collection bonus model.
Giorgio's tail hangs straight down while his mane does double duty covering both sides of his neck. Without a bridlepath, it swallows his ears and forehead. On the Stablemate, the forelock clumps up the details between his ears and his eyes. His face sort of juts out from under the forelock so his profile isn't as defined as Gustav. We will be looking for him as a regular run or TSC model in the future.
